Environmentally friendly (also eco-friendly, nature friendly, and green) are synonyms used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal or no harm on the environment. To make consumers aware, environmentally friendly goods and services often are marked with eco-labels. But because there is no single international standard for this concept, the International Organization for Standardization considers such labels too vague to be meaningful.
We at Evo Design Center have always strived to perform our jobs in an environmentally friendly fashion. From the early days learning how they recycled 2x4 lumber in Mexico we have always tried to remove materials from jobsites and either recycle them, or find good homes for them. From windows to lumber to appliances if there was a good use for it we would try to put it that way. We also separate materials or used dumping facilities that we knew separated and sorted materials. It made us feel good to do the right thing.
We have designed and installed numerous PV Solar Systems (Perry Michael of Evo, has the first 10 kw PV System installed on Long Island on his own home), High Efficiency HVAC Systems, Thermal Barrier sheathing, Super Insulated Homes and we are looking forward to installing more as well as Geo-Thermal Systems, Wind-Power, Solar Hot Water and Gray Water systems.
Today we practice even more responsible construction techniques and carry Sustainable and Eco-Friendly products, and this is not a selling tool as far as were concerned!!!! We offer Bamboo Flooring, Cork Flooring, Ice Stone Countertops(recycled glass), Bamboo Kitchen Accessories.
We continue to separate materials and use recycling disposal facilities. We have begun donating windows, appliances and other usable materials to Habitat For Humanity. In the near future we plan to set up recycling areas in our yard for batteries, computers, metals, appliances and other job take offs. We are planning to accept these items also from any other contractors, and homeowners free of charge.
If we all make an effort, this Beautiful Earth will be here for many generations to come.
